DEPUTY COUNTY BOSS OFFICIATES THE OPENING OF KOISEGEM CATTLE DIP IN TINDIRET WARD, TINDIRET CONSTITUENCY.
The County Government of Nandi with the help of H. E Dominic Biwott today officiated the opening of the new cattle dip in Koisegem location.
The Deputy Governor congratulated the local farmers for the good quality of cattle reared in the area and urged them to make use of the AI services offered to them by the County Government at a subsidized price of kshs 100.
“Our Government is committed to improving dairy farming in the region, that is why we have procured over 30000 AI seeds for our farmers across the county”. He added.
H. E Biwott urged the youth to register companies so as to benefit from the 30% contracts set aside for them and encouraged them to borrow a leaf from the Matir Holdings Ltd., a company owned by youthful enterpreneurs that benefited from the tender to put up the cattle dip.
On matters agriculture, the deputy Governor reinstated the government’s tireless effort to upgrade the livelihoods of the people of Nandi by issuing them with coffee seedlings, ” We are giving out 170000 coffee seedlings to the farmers and a coffee processing factory will be build in Tindiret and this will ensure job opportunities for the youth” He said.
Present during the event were Teresa Chepkwony, Agriculture CEC Mary Ng’elechei, Area MCA Kipkirui chepkwony, Nandi Hills sub county admininistrator Mr Ruto.

Nandi County Deputy Governor, Dominic Biwott has commisioned Kapkoros maternity wing in Kapchorua Ward, Nandi hills sub county. During The function which was attended by various county officials including Chief Officer Health and sanitation Dr. Edward Serem, the residents were urged to work hard and ensure that the facilities and drugs are well used.
NANDI COUNTY GOVERNMENT DONATES INCUBATORS TO KAPKOROS/KAPCHORWA WARD POULTRY FARMERS
Kapkoros/Kapchorwa Ward poultry farmers have a reason to smile after Nandi County government donated incubators to Kapkoros Cooperative and Ainapngetuny Cooperative societies on Monday. Nandi Deputy Governor Dominic Biwott donated the incubators to the poultry farmers at Kapkoros & Labuywo market. He was accompanied by CEC Cooperative Development Mr. Paul Rop, CEC Agriculture Mrs. Mary Ngelechei, CO Health Dr. Serem and Kapchorwa Ward MCA Hon. DC Rotich.
The chairman of Ainapngetuny Cooperative Mr. Stanley Rotich said that the incubators will help the farmers bolster the poultry sector which is one of the economic activities in the region.
“This cooperative has a total of 120 members who are all into poultry farming on a full time basis. The incubators donated to us by Nandi County Government will bolster this sector which is going to be the largest in this region,” he said.
The Deputy Governor said that the donation was to enable the farmers increase production and sell their own eggs.
“The poultry industry in Nandi county has immense potential and that is why we have donated the incubators so that we help our people produce and sell their own eggs. One incubator hatches 528 chicks in 21 days,” said Biwott.
The County deputy boss also distributed 12,000 coffee seedlings to Lengon Cooperative society and later laid a foundation stone for the construction of Kapkoros Maternity wing.
NANDI COUNTY GOVERNOR DR CLEOPHAS LAGAT UNVEILS SIX WEEK ICT TRAINING PROGRAM
Nandi County governor Dr Cleophas Lagat has unveiled a six week ICT training program targeting TSC employees, public servants and the community.
The programme which is a joint initiative between County government of Nandi and the National Government through Kenya ICT Training program me, the directorate of Adult and continuing Education, is the first of kind aimed at promoting digital literacy skills in the County and will be conducted at the six Sub Counties.
Speaking during the event at Kapsabet town Lagat called on residents and particularly the Youth to take advantage of the opportunity to acquire new skills to bridge the ICT gap in County. Information, Communication and Technology remains one of the untapped fields in the County, ‘’ I call upon our residents and more so our Youth to fully participate in these trainings and take advantage of free ICT skills being offered’’ added Lagat.
Further, Dr Lagat emphasized on the relevance of digital literacy skills as a core component in the contemporary global market, adding that his government was committed in ensuring that development of ICT capacity among the residents is expedited to maximize on the digital space.
The County government recently adopted automation of its revenue collection system as a measure to boost its revenue collection and reduce wastage , adding to the list of few Counties to embrace the technology.
Moreover, the County government is on course to expand the ICT infrastructure in major urban centers across the County, while bolstering investment in training and offering incentives to prospective Internet Service providers in the County, added Lagat.
The entire programme is supported by Wildlife Research and International Expedition who are providing trainers and computers for training. Present during the occasion was deputy governor Dominic Biwott, members of County Executive and other government officials.
FREE ICT TRAINING FOR PUBLIC SERVANTS, BUSINESS PEOPLE, TSC EMPLOYEES AND YOUTH
The county government of Nandi in collaboration with directorate of adults and continuing education, Kenya ICT training programme, and Google Africa wishes to welcome you all for FREE ICT TRAINING
The programme will be offered FREE and cover’s the following; Introductions to Computers, Computer Packages, Internet and ICT integration into Commerce, Service delivery, Education etc. The registration fees is Ksh 500.Those who will require certification will sit for Exam at a cost of KSHs 800/= and get certification from Mount Kenya University (MKU).
The six weeks training for Public Servants is planned to be officially launched by H.E. The Governor and the County Commissioner on Tuesday 19th July 10.00am at Kapsabet Town Hall. All interested Public Servants are requested to fill their details on the attached form so as to facilitate planning.

WILSON SANG ELECTED NANDI COUNTY ASSEMBLY DEPUTY SPEAKER
Chepkumia Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Wilson Kipkirui Sang was on Tuesday elected Deputy Speaker of the Nandi County Assembly.
Sang polled 36 votes beating Terik Ward MCA Thoma Martin who got five votes and Kaptumo-Kaboi MCA Josphat Tarbei who garnered two votes in the voting held in the Assembly Tuesday afternoon.
The Assembly was holding the elections to fill the Deputy Speaker’s position which fell vacant after the death of Hesbon Metto.
Sang bounced back in style to clinch the coveted position.
Speaking after being declared the winner by the Assembly Clerk Barnabas Koskei,Sang said his election was a clear indication that Nandi residents are proud and confident of his development record.
He thanked MCAs for trusting his leadership style and promised to ensure quality bills are passed in the assembly.
He at the same time assured Chepkumia residents of more development, adding that the responsibility before him is huge but he is upto the task.
“Though the responsibility is demanding, I am upto the task. I will develop Chepkumia and Nandi at large,”said Sang.
H.E THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR DOMINIC BIWOTT WINS 5-KILOMETRE GOTABGAA MARATHON
Nandi County Deputy Governor Dominic Biwott emerged the winner in a 5 kilometer marathon held in Ohio in the United States of America (USA).
The marathon which was organized by the kalenjin community living in the US attracted leaders and Kenyans who were in the US attending the Gotabga investment and social conference.
According to a statement from Gotabgaa Ohio chapter, Biwott emerged the overall winner in the Gotabgaa 5 kilometer marathon beating other leaders from the Kalenjin community who participated in the race.
The Deputy Governor and his Trans Nzoia counterpart Dr Stanley Tarus are in the US to attend the annual Gotabgaa US-Kenya Trade and Investment Conference and competed in the marathon.

H.E the governor also encouraged people across Nandi to be members of these societies citing that the membership attracts alot of benefits that includes; Capacity building among members, resource mobilization, low interest loans among others.
