WILSON SANG ELECTED NANDI COUNTY ASSEMBLY DEPUTY SPEAKER

Chepkumia Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Wilson Kipkirui Sang was on Tuesday elected Deputy Speaker of the Nandi County Assembly.

Sang polled 36 votes beating Terik Ward MCA Thoma Martin who got five votes and Kaptumo-Kaboi MCA Josphat Tarbei who garnered two votes in the voting held in the Assembly Tuesday afternoon.

The Assembly was holding the elections to fill the Deputy Speaker’s position which fell vacant after the death of Hesbon Metto.

Sang bounced back in style to clinch the coveted position.

Speaking after being declared the winner by the Assembly Clerk Barnabas Koskei,Sang said his election was a clear indication that Nandi residents are proud and confident of his development record.

He thanked MCAs for trusting his leadership style and promised to ensure quality bills are passed in the assembly.

He at the same time assured Chepkumia residents of more development, adding that the responsibility before him is huge but he is upto the task.

“Though the responsibility is demanding, I am upto the task. I will develop Chepkumia and Nandi at large,”said Sang.
