PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FORUM ON CIDP
The County Government of Nandi provides a conducive environment to encourage active participation from citizens/public so that they can make valuable contributions to the decision making processes. Building bottom-up participatory mechanisms is a key ingredient to effective decentralization.
It’s is therefore with this in mind that every effort is being made under the leadership of the Nandi Governor H.E Stephen Sang to ensure that all the citizens in Nandi are supported, understand the venues and methods through which they can actively participate to enhance service delivery, promote accountability and good governance, for improved living standards and realization of sustainable development.
County Executive Committee members and MCAs presided over public participation fora in
Kaptel/Kamoiywo,Lelmokwo/Ngechek,Kiptuiya,Kipkaren,Kabiyet,Ndalat,Onondaga,Chapters,Kurgung/Surungai,Sangalo/Kebulonik and Kilibwoni wards.This marked the last day of the fora in the ward level with public participation in the Sub-County level set to commence next week.#TransformingNandi.
CENSUS PROGRAM FOR PWD’s
In a move aimed at capturing the skills endowed with the People living With Disabilities (PWDs),the County Government of Nandi will soon roll out a census program for PWDs.This will enable proper planning for necessary support as well as widening their awareness scope on different opportunities.
Today, the County Government of Nandi in partnership with Lions International and Special Olympics Kenya , we handed over visual aids to the parents and guardians of the visually-impaired children.#TransformingNandi

Permanent Secretary Lands Environment and Natural Resources, Charles Sunkuli courtesy visit to County Government
Permanent Secretary Lands Environment and Natural Resources, Charles Sunkuli today paid a visit to County Government and toured Lake Victoria Environment Management Program(LVEMP)-funded projects.
The second phase of LVEMP II is over and the team is now keen on identifying projects that are worth supporting, identifying community needs and how best to address them and also encourage public participation.
Also present during the visit were World bank officers, Shafick Hussein, Environment specialist, Oyebimpe Adeposu, Senior Operations Manager and Guoping Zhang, Senior water specialist.
Lvemp promised to continue partnering with the County Government of Nandi for livelihood improvement as well as setting up a monitoring and evaluation unit for the project progress.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, led by CEC Elly Kurgat is delighted to ANNOUNCE to the Nandi County Youth of this exciting collaboration with Nancy Mwirotsi and StartUpAfrica.
THE OPPORTUNITY:1st Annual StartUpAfrica Nandi County Pitch Competition for Nandi County-based startup entrepreneurs to identify innovative solutions for the agriculture sector in Nandi. Entrants gain practical insights about starting and growing a business, while using the comprehensive small business resources available at the County and National level.
The expected outcome of the Pitch is to select winning solutions that can lead to new products, programs, projects and processes by youth Agripreneurs that can be implemented in the County.
PITCH AREAS OF FOCUS:
This call for proposals is open to individuals or teams who wish to submit innovative ideas in any of the following 2 areas of Agribusiness:
i) Innovations in ICT for Agriculture and Agri-business
ii) Agricultural production, storage, processing and distribution solutions
ELIGIBILITY:
The StartUpAfrica Pitch Competition is open to all Kenyan, Nandi youth between the ages of 18 – 35.
A short-list of 25 agripreneurs will be selected from the online submissions and will be invited to a pre-Forum boot camp for coaching and pitching on January 19, 2018 in Nandi County.
Staff from partner organizations are excluded from submitting business concept proposals.

The Governor presiding over the launch of Medical Equipment and the Delivery of Drugs
H.E Governor Stephen K. Sang presided over the launch of Medical Equipment and the delivery of drugs and medical supplies to Kabirirsang dispensary in Kilibwoni ward, Emgwen Constituency. During the launch the Governor who was accompanied by Health CEC Mrs. Ruth Koech said the County Government of Nandi will continue to engage various partners and stakeholders in order to strengthen healthcare. The medical equipment was donated by Finland-based Kenyan Stanley Samoei. #TransformingNandi
Governor signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Rivatex East Africa Limited and the County Government of Nandi
This morning H.E Governor Stephen K. Sang signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Rivatex East Africa Limited and the County Government of Nandi towards the establishment of tailoring units, provision of technical assistance and training of county staff. The MoU will also ensure the supply of hospital linen, patients uniform and labcoats. #TransformingNandi
Governor signing a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) between the County Government of Nandi and Export Processing Zone
This morning H.E Stephen K. Sang represented the County Government of Nandi during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) between the County Government of Nandi and Export Processing Zone Authority(EPZA) paving way for the establishment of EPZ in Chemase, Tinderet constituency. The Export Processing Zone (EPZ) will attract foreign investment and create jobs. EPZ will also promote value addition and boost use of local raw materials.. #TransformingNandi
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION ON ON EXPORT PROCESSING ZONE IN CHEMASE
County Executive Committee Members Dr. Kiplimo Lagat(Trade), Alfred Lagat(Finance), Jacob Tanui(Lands), Stanley Baliach(Education), Elly Kurgat(Sports and Youth Affairs) and County Legal Advisor George Tarus interacted with Chemase ward residents led by area MCA Hon. Hillary Serem to chart way forward on the establishment of an Export processing zone in the area.
This comes ahead of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) between the County Government of Nandi and EPZA which will take place on 15th Jan 2018 starting at 10 a.m at the county Headquarters.
The establishment of EPZ will promote and facilitate export oriented investment and apart from economic growth that will uplift livehoods, it will create employment opportunities for locals #TransformingNandi
The County Government of Nandi to benefit from Kshs 164 Million grant from European Union
The County Government of Nandi will benefit from Kshs 164 Million grant from European Union to implement a solid waste management strategy,promote agro-forestry, establish green spaces as well as planting trees along the Nandi Escarpment.
This was after the County presented a concept on Water towers protection and climate change mitigation and adaptation programme.
CEC for Lands, Environment and Natural resources Jacob Tanui today attended a workshop on Sensitization and Planning for Conditional Grants to Counties.
Present at the workshop were Cabinet Secretary for Environment Prof. Judy Wakhungu and European Union representative Alain Castermans.#TransformingNandi
