REVENUE OFFICERS LEAD GRASSROOTS SENSITIZATION DRIVE ON BUSINESS PERMIT COMPLIANCE

The County Government of Nandi, through the department of Finance carried out a community sensitization campaign on business permits compliance in the grassroots.

Speaking in Kobujoi trading Centre, Aldai sub-county where he had accompanied the revenue officers during the exercise , the head of revenue at the county government of Nandi CPA Dr. Nicholas Biwott said that the goal is to bring services closer to the people and encourage business owners to renew their permits on time to avoid penalties.

He added that the sensitization campaign aims to raise awareness and built trust between the county government and the business owners.

“The grace period given to them will expire on 31st of this month”, he said.

The officers visited kiosks, salons, petrol stations, restaurants, supermarkets and hardware stores, ensuring no business owner was left out.

They also demonstrated how to use digital payment options, making the process more accessible and transparent.

The officers have so far visited Emgwen, Nandihills, Chesumei,Aldai and Mosop sub-counties. They are scheduled to visit Tinderet sub-county next week.

Enforcement on the non-compliant business owners will begin on 1st April 2026.
