NITA LAUNCHES APRIL 2023 NATIONAL TRADE TEST IN NANDI
The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) has today launched the April 2023 trade test series at Cheptarit Vocational training centre in Mosoriot.
Speaking during the launch, the cabinet secretary for Labour and social protection Florence Bore said that through competency-based education and training courses offered at vocational training centres and youth polytechnics across the country, the young people will be empowered to create employment that will lead to economic growth, poverty reduction and improved standards of living.
The CS added that NITA plays a key role in equipping the industry for optimum productivity and ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary skills to meet the demands of the job market in Kenya and outside the country.
On her part, the deputy governor Dr Yulita Mitei Cheruiyot thanked the CS for visiting Nandi and encouraged the young people from the region and beyond to join vocational training centres in order to be equipped with knowledge that will benefit them and the community.
A total of 21, 670 students are currently sitting for grade 3,2 and 1 trade tests in 438 examination centres across the country. Also present during the launch were NITA’s director general Eng. Stephen Ogenga, NITA’s Board director Apolo Kiarie, CECM for education Ms. Scholastica Tuwei, COs Kipchumba Cheruiyot and CPA Caroline Lagat among other guests.
