MORE FARMERS TRAINED ON FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SKILLS

More farmers entrusted by the community to spearhead community projects under the National Agricultural & Rural Inclusive Growth Project, NARIGP have concluded a four day training workshop on financial management in a bid to develop a culture of accountability and responsibility.

This week was the turn of Community Driven Development Committee CDDC and Social Accountability and Integrity Committee SAIC members from Aldai, Mosop, Chesumei and Emgwen Sub Counties, who have been mandated and tasked by members of their respective communities to spearhead community projects.

Like their peers in Nandi Hills and Tinderet who have already been trained, the participants were rigorously taken through financial tenets on Budgeting, Accounting, Procurement, banking operation, auditing, monitoring and evaluation by the NARIGP finance experts in a bid to impart farmers with best financial practices as they go about implementing community projects.

Financial literacy remains to be a crucial aspect to ensuring CDDC and SAIC members diligently utilize the resources allocated to them. Therefore, the training endeavor to enhance farmers’ financial management knowledge and skill to guide them in effective decision making.

It is envisioned that NARIGP will help farmers boost their agricultural productivity and profitability leading to improved livelihoods and reduced vulnerabilities
