KOICA ALUMNI KENYA CHAPTER DONATES THERMAL GUNS TO BOOST COVID-19 FIGHT

KOICA alumni Kenya Chapter (KAKC) has donated 45 thermal guns to the County Department of Health to help in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

The initiative is in line with Nandi County’s COVID-19 Response plan which seeks to strengthen health systems and enhance the capacity of health workers to address the Coronavirus disease challenge.

The donation was delivered by Siddy Jepkirui, KAKC Secretary General in a bid to ensure the fight against the spread of the deadly virus COVID-19 is undertaken back to the grass-root level.

The thermal guns will be distributed to various health facilities in the County.

While receiving the donations, the CEC for Health Ruth Koech applauded KAKC for its help to the county.

The CEC noted that people need to continue adhering to COVID-19 prevention strategies recommended by the government such as frequent hand washing with soap and water, social distancing and wearing masks while in public.

“By doing this, we not only slow down the spread of the disease but also show our appreciation to healthcare workers that are working round the clock to save lives and protect us from COVID-19,” she added.

Present at the brief event was the Sally Kemboi, Chief Officer Preventive and Promotive Services Sally Kemboi.
