FARMER EXCHANGE VISIT BETWEEN NANDI & TRANS-NZOIA MAIZE VALUE CHAIN ACTORS
To enhance productivity of the maize value chain, exchange visits and education tours provide opportunities for knowledge acquisition and utilization among the farmers. As such, the county Government of Nandi through the department of Agriculture and Cooperative is continuously facilitating peer to peer learning through farmer Field tours.
In the preceding month, the department of Agriculture through the Agriculture Sector Development Support Programme ASDSP II organized for an exchange visit of small-holder farmers and aggregators to Trans Nzoia County for an exchange visit on knowledge and experience in; Conservation/Regenerative agriculture, Maize Production, Value Addition, Warehousing (aggregation) as well as Warehouse Receipt System (WRS).
During the exchange visit, participants visited to observe and learn about operations, successes and challenges at Wamuini Soko Huru CBO, Agricultural Development Cooperation (Animal Feed Mill, Engineering Section, ADC maize farms farms of Small and Large farmers in Kwanza and Endebes Sub Counties respectively. #TransformingNandi
