DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SANITATION RECEIVES AMBULANCE DONATED TO KABIEMIT HEALTH CENTRE

In a bid to boost to healthcare services in Mosop Sub-County, the Department of Health and Sanitation today officially received an ambulance handed over by the Kabiemit Health Centre Management Committee. The handover ceremony, led by the committee’s chairman, Mr. Keino, marks a pivotal moment in enhancing emergency medical services for the region.

The ambulance, which will be operationalized and serviced by the county government, will be stationed at Kabiemit Health Centre. Its strategic location ensures that it will serve not only the residents of Ndalat Ward and Mosop Sub-County but also adjacent geographic areas whenever the need arises. This development is expected to significantly reduce response times during medical emergencies, ultimately saving lives and improving healthcare outcomes.

It will also form part of the county’s larger fleet of ambulances, ensuring its availability for emergencies throughout the region. This strategic integration into the county’s fleet system guarantees that the ambulance will be properly maintained and utilized to its full potential, benefiting a wider population.

During the handover ceremony, the County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Health, Dr. Angeline Kirui, expressed her gratitude to the Kabiemit Health Centre Committee for their gesture. She also extended her appreciation to the Office of the County Women Representative, Hon. Cynthia Muge, for her instrumental role in facilitating the donation. Hon. Muge’s networks with the National Government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the agency responsible for donating the ambulance, were critical in securing this vital resource for the community.

Dr. Angeline emphasized that the handover marks a critical step in ensuring the efficient management and maintenance of the vehicle. This move underscores the county’s commitment to strengthening its healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that residents have access to timely and reliable medical services.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Ndalat Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), Hon. Nicholas Kipkorir Kiberenge, Chief Officer for Sports, John Kipchumba, County Director for Health, Dr. David Bungei, County Fleet Management Officer, County Mechanical Engineer, and County Ambulance Coordinator. Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort between elected leaders and county government officials in addressing the healthcare needs of the community.

Hon. Kiberenge, the Ndalat Ward MCA, commended the donation, noting that the ambulance would significantly improve access to emergency medical services for residents of Kabiemit, Ndalat Ward, and beyond. He emphasized the need for proper management of the vehicle to ensure its longevity and effectiveness in serving the community.

As the ambulance becomes operational, the County Department of Health and Sanitation will oversee its management, ensuring that it is well-maintained and readily available for emergencies. This initiative not only strengthens the county’s healthcare system but also sets a precedent for future collaborative efforts between community leaders, elected officials, and county governments in addressing pressing community needs.

The ambulance is a testament to the power of partnerships in driving development and improving public service delivery. It is a clear demonstration of how collective action can bring about tangible benefits for communities, particularly in the critical area of healthcare. With this new addition to its fleet, the County is better equipped to handle emergencies and provide life-saving services to its residents.
