
CPA ALFRED LAGAT VISITS SEREM HEALTH CENTER, URGES RESIDENTS TO REGISTER FOR SOCIAL HEALTH AUTHORITY (SHA)
Serem, Aldai Sub County – In a bid to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services to residents, CPA Alfred Lagat, the County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Lands, Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change, today paid a visit to Serem Health Center. The visit is part of a broader initiative by the County Executive Committee members to collectively monitor and improve public service delivery across the county.
During his tour of the facility, CPA Lagat assessed the standard of services offered at the health center, interacting with both staff and patients to gain firsthand insights into the challenges and successes of the facility. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in healthcare delivery, noting that access to quality health services is a fundamental right for all residents.
Speaking at the facilitiy, CPA Lagat called on the community to continue registering for the Social Health Authority (SHA), a program designed to enhance healthcare access and affordability for all citizens. He urged residents to take advantage of the initiative, stating that it is a critical step toward achieving universal health coverage and ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing essential medical services.
“The Social Health Authority is a transformative program that will benefit every household. I encourage all residents to register and take ownership of their health. This is not just a government initiative; it is a collective responsibility to ensure a healthier future for our community,” said CPA Lagat.
The CEC Member was received by Kennedy Boibanda, the Nursing Officer in charge of Serem Health Center, who provided a detailed overview of the facility’s operations, achievements, and challenges. Boibanda expressed gratitude for the visit, noting that such engagements by county leaders are instrumental in addressing gaps and improving service delivery.
CPA Lagat’s visit also highlighted the interconnectedness of environmental sustainability and public health. As the CEC Member responsible for climate change and natural resources, he reiterated the county’s commitment to addressing environmental challenges that directly impact community health, such as water scarcity, pollution, and climate-related diseases.
