COUNTY RECEIVES MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO SUPPORT HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Nandi County’s Healthcare is being strengthened by the provision of essential medical equipment and supplies donated by partners from the UK and the US through the Friends Of Nandi USA.

The fourth container containing medical equipment and supplies arrived at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital Friday..

The medical supplies donated are from the Franciscan Sisters – Independence Missouri who donated Beds, Linen, examination tables, infant warmers, dental chairs and surgical equipment. From UK – the County received Adaptive Equipment for PWDs. Faith In Action Initiatives (FIAI) – Baylor Texas donated Medical Supplies, Dialysis Machines, Oxygen Concentrators, Adaptive Equipment, Infant Warmers, examination tables. The Lee Sisters – Plymouth Minnesota donated Hospital gowns. Federal credit union In Virginia donated Computers and Fair Winds church Delaware donated laptops and desktops. Whereas, Friends of Nandi USA donated Medical Supplies and Coordination.

While receiving the equipment, the Chief Officer for Sanitation Sally Kemboi said that the medical supplies received from the partners will go a long way in strengthening the County’s healthcare system.

The CEC for Health Ruth Koech said partners from the UK and the USA have been long standing partners for the Department of Health and Sanitation in supporting its health programs not just during COVID-19 but in previous occasions as well.

“We want to express our gratitude to all our partners for their continued support and assistance that they have given us,” said Ruth.

Present at the event were the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Daniel Kemboi and the Hospital Matron Salina Bittok.
