County Prepares for KDSP II Funding as Deputy County Secretary Dr. Lydia Kogo Chairs Key Meeting

The Deputy County Secretary today chaired a crucial meeting to assess the County’s readiness for the Kenya Devolution Support Programme II (KDSP II). A delegation from the Ministry of Devolution in Nairobi, led by Ruth Musau, visited the County to collect data and evaluate preparedness for the disbursement of funds under the programme.

KDSP II, funded by the World Bank, aims to provide institutional support to counties, addressing gaps identified in the first phase of the programme (KDSP I). The grant focuses on three key areas: Own Source Revenue, Intergovernmental and Human Resources, and Oversight and Project Implementation Support.

The Chief Officer responsible for implementing KDSP II in the County, Mr. Misoi Jonathan, presented a comprehensive update on the County’s progress in all three focus areas. Members of the County Programme Implementation Unit (CPIU) and County Programme Technical Committee (CPTC) were also in attendance to support the deliberations.

This initiative is expected to strengthen the County’s institutional capacity and improve service delivery as it aligns with the objectives of the devolution agenda and to ensure the County qualifies for level two grants in Investment and Development
