A FREE EYE MEDICAL CAMP AT CHEPKEMEL HEALTH CENTRE BY SCOTTISH NGO, SIGHT AID INTERNATIONAL IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF NANDI
Scottish NGO, Sight Aid International in partnership with the County Government of Nandi yesterday held a free eye medical camp at Chepkemel Health Centre, Mosop sub county where over 600 local people received various eye screening services provided at the medical camp free of charge. The team examined 315 people for eye conditions, 62 people with reading problems were provided with reading glasses and 170 people were provided with eye drops for various eye conditions, 16 people were referred to hospital with various conditions for further treatment.
Medical Camps leave a significant impact in terms of providing better healthcare in our society, especially children and women in the communities.
The eye camp gives free eye screening to people in need and provide them with the care that they need thereafter.
The CEC for Health and Sanitation Mrs. Ruth Koech who attended the eye medical camp thanked Sight Aid International “When things seemed the darkest for the people living with eye problems in this village, you have come to help us bring hope and a future. You have sponsored hundreds of reading and near-sighted glasses that have changed the lives of so many students and adults living here in Chepkemel and beyond, so we thank you and look forward for more partnerships with the county government of Nandi,” said Mrs. Koech.
Sight Aid International will today hold medical camps in Tinderet (Got Ne Lel Girls secondary school), Aldai on Wednesday (Koyo Health Centre) and Kapsabet County Referral Hospital on Thursday.
