During the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Kapsaos Toretmoi Coffee Growers Cooperative Society in Aldai Sub-County, Governor Stephen Sang reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the coffee farming sector. Coffee farming holds enormous potential for transforming livelihoods, and we are determined to unlock this potential through innovative approaches and farmer-centered initiatives.
Modernization and Farmer Empowerment
To bolster productivity and ensure high-quality yields, we have provided coffee pulping machines, certified seeds, and extensive farmer training programs to various cooperatives across the county. These efforts are designed to enhance production efficiency while maintaining the superior quality of Nandi Coffee.

A key milestone in our journey has been the establishment of the Nandi Coffee Cooperative Union (NCCU) & Brokerage Company Ltd. The Union has been instrumental in ensuring that our farmers secure the best prices at the Nairobi Coffee Auction. By cutting out exploitative middlemen, the NCCU has empowered farmers to earn competitive returns for their hard work.
The newly established warehouse is another critical asset, enabling proper quality handling and value addition. This move not only enhances the marketability of our coffee but also strengthens our competitive advantage on the global stage.
