NANDI COUNTY’S PLEDGE TO PRESIDENT RUTO’S TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE.
The County Government of Nandi has taken bold steps to mitigate the negative impact of climate change and is simultaneously taking countrywide public commitment to securing a brighter future for Kenya and the generations to come by planting trees.
As per President Ruto’s commitment to plant 15 billion tree seedlings by 2032 to realize forest restoration and tackle the effects of climate change, and following the gazettement of Monday 13th November as a Working Holiday for planting tree across the country, the County Secretary Dr Francis Sang today chaired a consultative stakeholder meeting to plan for the exercise that will take place across the county.
The County Secretary took the opportunity to invite all the residents of Nandi County to turn up in large numbers and plant trees in their farms, institutions and forests.
