Nandi County Government launched the automation of revenue collection management system in bid to improve revenue collection efficiency.The event took place at Kapsabet CITC ground opposite Kapsabet National Bank
Governor Cleophas Lagat and his Deputy Dominic Biwott joined a team from the Kampala Capital City Authority led by the CEO Jeniffer Musisi, in unveiling the new technology.
Governor Lagat said the electronic revenue collection system and Bulk sms launching technology will make the payment of services quicker and more efficient.
“The automation will involve all revenue streams that include parking, single business permits, market dues and land rates,”said Lagat.
He lauded the Uganda government through Kampala Capital City Authority for the collaboration saying the county government of Nandi will continue to strengthen ties together and be part of the transformation.
He pointed out that the rolling out of the new system is part of ongoing efforts to reform revenue management in the County.
The Deputy Governor said the new system will help in sealing revenue leakages, increase efficiency, improve reporting and collection.
Biwott added that other efforts being made by the County Government include a culture change program and capacity enhancement for revenue management staff.
The Automated Revenue Management system now makes Nandi county to join the ongoing list of counties that use automated revenue management system like Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Kiambu Bungoma and Machakos
