MOSQUITO NETS DISTRIBUTION

Nandi County in collaboration with National Malaria Control Board started county wide distribution of over 500,000 mosquito nets to serve 185,000 households which were earlierĀ registered to benefit from the same.
Speaking during the official opening of the exercise Chief Officer Health and Sanitation Dr. Edward Serem said the residents have already been sensitised on proper use of the nets. The County has 302 distribution points including health facilities where one net is supposed to be shared by 2 people.Chief Officer said that over 500, 000 nets are to be distributed to the 185,000 households. The exercise began 15th and will end on 19th.

The medical staff during the event demonstrated how the mosquito nets are used.

The members of the public immediately began receiving the mosquito nets at Kapsabet Referral Hospital and all the selected distributing stations across the entire County. The National Malaria Control Board has spent over 300 Million in purchasing the nets.
