NANDI COUNTY INVITES PUBLIC INPUT ON UPCOMING 2026/2027 BUDGET ESTIMATES
Residents of Nandi County are set to have a direct say in their local governance as the County Government gears up for a series of public participation forums regarding the Budget Estimates for the 2026/2027 Financial Year.
In a notice issued by the Department of Finance and Economic Planning, the county administration emphasized that public engagement is not merely encouraged, but is a mandatory requirement under the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and Section 125 (2) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012.
The forums are designed to bring the budget-making process closer to the grassroots, allowing citizens, civil society groups, faith-based organizations, and the private sector to scrutinize the proposed allocations and offer their own suggestions for county development.

The public participation exercise is scheduled to take place across all six sub-counties on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The venues are as follows:

How to Participate
County Executive Committee Member for Finance, CPA Alfred Kiprotich Lagat, has urged the public to review the draft estimates before the meetings. The documents are currently available for download on the county’s official portal at https://nandi.go.ke/download/nandi-county-annual-development-plan-cadp-fy-2026-2027/
For those unable to attend the meetings in person, the administration has provided a digital pathway for contribution. Stakeholders can submit their written memoranda electronically via email to financedep@nandi.go.ke.
As the county prepares for the new financial year, these forums serve as a critical opportunity for residents to influence how public funds are prioritized, ranging from infrastructure projects and healthcare to agricultural support and education initiatives.
