ELIUD KIPCHOGE MODERN TRAINING COMPLEX CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS.
The County Government of Nandi is making enough efforts and measures
in ensuring that it curbs the spread of Covid-19 among its residents.
As much as the pandemic has affected different sectors within the county, the county is also ensuring that they are subjected to development progress within the county.
The department of Sports has been on the forefront in ensuring that the Eluid Kipchoge Complex gets to its finishing lanes.
The facility, whose construction started in September last year in honour of world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge, has so far gobbled completion of Phase One, that consist a state-of-the-art gym, a conference hall, main offices, training track and an athletes’ lounge.
Phase two of the construction which is on its completion,will feature a physiotherapy room, 200-bed hostel, a second conference hall, and a restaurant among other facilities.
The centre, which will also act as a Hall of Fame for stars from the region.
The department of Sports, Youth Affairs and Arts wishes all athletes a safer training time at their homes during this cautious moments.
This after Governor Sang directed closure of training camps and facilities as a measure to stop the spread of the Corona Virus.
TheSports CEC, Elly Kurgay, has asked athletes to continue with the training at their homes as they take caution and key measures in ensuring that they are not affected by the virus.
“We believe that we will conquer the pandemic and come out stronger than before with energy to even do better than before.Stay safe,Stay at home and will keep the virus far from us,” he said.
