Measles and Rubella vaccination kicks off today. The campaign which is funded by the National Government targets children aged between 9 months to 14 years. Estimates of rubella susceptibility range from 1-29% with 5% affecting women of reproductive age.
The vaccination will be conducted in schools, homesteads and churches. Permanent and temporary posts will also be erected with 2 county medical staff and a community volunteer who will attend to the people.
So far 40 cases have been detected and confirmed by Kenya Medical and Research Institute (KEMRI) since 2012.
