Hon. Joshua Kiptoo
We are determined to fully perform as per the expectations of the people in providing oversight and passing the necessary pieces of legislation. There are many Bills in the pipeline but already, we have passed several of them. Soon, we will tackle others, which have been forwarded to the County Assembly. They are two Finance Bills and another two on education touching on pre-primary and early childhood development and a scholarship fund.
We are also working on refurbishment of the assembly offices, and the sitting chamber. We also intend to hold training sessions on parliamentary procedure for members of the County Assembly.
Further, we are working on a capacity building programme to make the county assembly more effective and efficient in discharging its constitutional mandate. We will also ensure the welfare of members of the house is well catered for.The County Assembly has 48 members 30 of whom are elected and are 18 nominated. There is need to enlighten members of the public on the work of members of the County Assembly so that they can understand their roles in the current dispensation. What I can assure is that MCAs are committed to delivering on their mandate for growth of this County and the nation. I invite the public to participate in the activities of the House by following proceedings from the gallery.
